Welcome to 51 The Mint, our lovely boutique holiday cottage located in the centre of the citadel in the ancient market town of Rye. Perched on a hill with its maze of cobbled streets and enchanting historic buildings, Rye is a medieval dream.

The cottage is located on The Mint, just a one minute walk from the High Street and Mermaid Street and less than five minutes from the station. There is parking 50 meters away at The Strand carpark.

Whether you’re interested in history, the arts, outdoor activities, shopping, eating out, or indulging in some rejuvenating spa treaments, Rye has everything to offer. The town’s impressive number of quality shops includes a treasure trove of vintage, antiques, interior and homewares and stylish independent clothing boutiques. While away the hours in the second hand book shop and step back a decade or two in the nostalgic record shop. You will be sure to find a few treasures to take home with you. Festivals held throughout the year include the International Jazz Festival, Arts Festival and Scallop Week. The town also boasts a wonderful boutique cinema, the Kino, and art and photographic galleries. Rye still has a library, a Post Office and a fishing fleet. We adore it!

Rye is very well served by excellent restaurants, cafes, bars and historic inns, some of which date back to the 14th century.

Camber Sands, one of the UK’s best beaches with seven miles of golden sands and towering dunes, is only ten minutes’ drive away. Five miles to the east is Pett Level, great for fossil hunting, rock pools and watching the wading birds.

Rye is located in an excellent position to tour 1066 country and the many inspiring gardens and historical attractions nearby.
